Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) is a low-cost carrier terminal at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia, approximately 45 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur city centre. The terminal is located some 2 kilometers away from KLIA, Main Terminal Building (MTB), and it has its own runway and air traffic control tower. KLIA2 is built to cater for the low cost carriers airlines and has replaced the former KLIA Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT). KLIA2 started commercial operations on Thursday, 1 May 2014 and all low-cost carrier flight operations at LCCT were moved to klia2. It was officially opened to public on Friday, 9 May 2014.
